The Nomanual Flagship Store, designed by HOFFICE, transcends the conventional boundaries of retail spaces, embracing walls as symbols of intricate narratives. Design Concept

Comprising four distinct walls of striking forms, the Nomanual Flagship Store blurs the lines between interior and exterior spaces. A translucent glass wall delicately separates the inside from the outside, while two imposing black walls divide the interior, and a solid concrete wall serves as a backdrop for functional elements. These walls, born from abstract concepts, take on a life of their own in the physical space, becoming actors in a world of uncertainty and happenstance. They seamlessly integrate with the surrounding environment, acting as pillars for the stories waiting to unfold within.

Store Identity

As the first offline store for the fashion brand Nomanual, located in Sangsu-dong, Mapo-gu, the flagship store embodies the brand’s ethos of constant exploration and innovation. In response to the client’s request for a store that defied traditional expectations, HOFFICE embraced the challenge to create a space that transcended the typical appearance of a clothing store.

Spatial Elements

The store’s façade features satin-treated white glass, blurring the distinction between inside and outside, while a rough-concrete wall adds a sense of permanence and depth. Curved walls within the space serve to delineate different zones, enhancing the visual impact of the displays. These curved walls, crafted from reflective black stainless steel, challenge perceptions of volume and space, creating a dynamic and immersive environment. Mirrors on the short sides of the store further amplify the sense of space, extending the walls infinitely and adding an element of illusion to the interior.

Experiential Design

Through the careful integration of spatial elements and materials, the Nomanual Flagship Store offers a unique and immersive retail experience. The interplay of light, texture, and form creates a dynamic environment that invites exploration and discovery. By challenging traditional notions of space and perception, HOFFICE has crafted a space that reflects the brand’s commitment to innovation and creativity.
